Granite and plastic in Melloblocco 2017

The biggest outdoor bouldering meeting/competition/party on the planet, Melloblocco, took place last weekend in Val Masino, Northern Italy. More than 2000 climbers took part in this edition, which also included the Italian Bouldering Championship.

McColl and Verhoeven, double ascent of Gaia

Canadian and Dutch climbers Sean McColl and Jorg Verhoeven finished their visit to England with a double ascent of one of the most famous trad routes in the country: Gaia. Both sent this very exposed line the day after the CWIF bouldering comp, in which both made finals.

Remember when, back in November 2015, Jorg Verhoeven sent The Wheel of Life? Here you have a beautiful video of the ascent. Verhoeven did James Kassay’s direct exit, which is regarded as harder than Koyamada’s orginial exit.

Dutch climber Jorg Verhoeven has repeated what’s probably the most famous line in Australia: The Wheel of Life, a massive linkage of several roof boulder problems in Hollow Mountain Cave in the Grampians.

First 8B for Katha Saurwein, first 8C for Martin Stráník

Austrian climber Katha Saurwein has made a successful trip to the Rocky Mountain National Park (Colorado, USA), managing to climb Nuthin’ but sunshine 8B | V13 and several other hard boulders. Also, in Switzerland, Czech climber Martin Stráník has climbed his first 8C problem.

2013 Toronto Bouldering World Cup – Results

The sixth Bouldering World Cup of the Season is over. The Austrian Golden Couple (TM) Kilian Fischhuber and Anna Stöhr have won yet another gold medal. Jorg Verhoeven, Akiyo Noguchi, Jakob Schubert and Alex Puccio completed the podium.
