ABS Nationals 2015: Woods and Puccio go for their 9th title

The 16th edition of the American Bouldering Series National Championships will take place this weekend in Madison, Wisconsin.

Daniel Woods, fresh of his epic sent of The Process V16, and Alex Puccio, who seems to be in her best shape ever are once again the main favorites and will fight for their 9th National Champion title.

The field is packed with the cream of the crop of American bouldering (Megan Mascarenas, Angie Payne, Alex Johnson, Michael O’Rourke, Paul Robinson, Rob D’Anastasio…). I’ve also noticed some Canadian talent, Sebastien Lazure will be competing.

Sadly, according to the starting list (males, females), Carlo Traversi and Vasya Vorotnikov won’t be there. Also, don’t expect to see Jimmy Webb competing, that guy saves his strength for the outdoors.

Update: Apparently both Traveri and Webb are recovering from an injury and would have competed otherwise (thanks Seth Elltiot!)

Louder Than 11 will offer a complete coverage of the event, including livestreaming of every single round. Last year the quality of the livestream was outstanding, make sure you don’t miss it.

Here’s the schedule (Madison is in the UTC-6 time zone):

Friday 6th

  • 09:00 – Open Women Qualifiers
  • 16:00 – Open Men Qualifiers

Saturday 7th

  • 10:00 – Semifinals
  • 19:45 – Finals

And don’t miss the special edition of Louder Than 11 Live tomorrow at 18:00 (again UTC-6), they will be talking to Alex Puccio.
