Alex Puccio celebrates her 28th birthday climbing Bear Toss, 8B | V13

American crusher Alex Puccio has turned 28 years old and she celebrated the occasion sending her 21st problem graded V13 | 8B or harder, Bear Toss, on the Veritas Boulder, in Rocky Mountain National Park.

“Honestly didn’t think I was going to send today and even said I was done, but I guess the stubborn side of me came out!”

Less than 3 days after the World Cup final in Vail, still sore from the comp (in which she ended up 4th), Alex Puccio went to RMNP to “show some friends around”. But she failed to resist the call of the rock and soon she was climbing and climbing hard. That day she sent The Super Kind Traverse V12 | 8A+ and, the next day, Sun Storm V11 | 8A.

On Wednesday she turned 28 and it looks like she managed to transform the birthday cake into the power needed to climb her 18th V13 | 8B boulder problem, Bear Toss, which she sent on Thursday. Located on the Veritas Boulder, Bear Toss shares some moves with Daniel Woods’ Hypnotized Minds and it was flashed by Adam Ondra a couple of years ago.

“It’s a longer traverse and kind of pumpy…. 23ish moves! I guess I just can’t help myself when I’m outside, I LOVE it!!!” Puccio on climbing The Super Kind Traverse V12 | 8A+

On Sun Storm V11 | 8A
