Alex Puccio warms up for Vail with another 8B | V13

Alex Puccio, in what was supposed to be a rest day, has climbed yet another V13 | 8B boulder, Dead Meadow in Wild Basin, Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado. This is Puccio’s 20th ascent graded V13 or harder. With just a week left until the IFSC World Cup in Vail, Puccio seems to be more than ready for the challenge.

Update: Here’s a video of the ascent!

“Was suppose to be a rest day and went out to spot joel. He got me all psyched to try Dead Meadow V13/ 8B in Wild Basin and surprised myself with a send! First day on it as well. Psyched!!! 😁Now getting all psyched up for Vail Bouldering World Cup next weekend!!!”

Although Puccio hasn’t done that many World Cups lately (since her knee injury in 2015 she’s only participated in the World Cup in Vail), she’s been very active in USA Competitions. Just a few weeks ago, she won the Come and Send it event in Texas. Next weekend she’ll be competing in Vail again.

Dead Meadow was opened by Dave Graham back in 2012. Here’s Sam Weir climbing it:
