Chongqing video summary: An experiment

I’ve made a video summary of the final round in Chongqing. I don’t like the highlight videos that the IFSC offers (less than 2 min long, just naming the winners, almost no climbing) and I decided to make my own. Take a look and let me know what you think!

  1. Thanks a lot for this. I cannot resist to replay the M3 sequences again and again, it was so amazing.

  2. Excellent job! Keep on!
Bipolar problem setting, with incredible and amazing problems (M3, W4) but strange and dangerous one (M2). I couldn’t watch the guys suffer so much with that M2 top (and that drop knee for some)

    • Bipolar? I think you gonna have to explain that :D
And you say dangerous I’m guessing you mean that it was risky from the competition standpoint, not that it was physically dangerous for the climbers right?

      • I was joking about the “bipolar”.. Some problems were exciting, other depressing :)
I mean physically dangerous, extreme drop knees are high risk positions for knee ligaments! When Alexey did that i literally turned my head to not watch

        • It’s true that drop knees are dangerous but I think most of those climbers are really flexible and aware of their limitations. I don’t consider it as dangerous as, for instance, a downwards jump onto a volume.

  3. This little recap is really good. Although I watched the whole thing last week it’s easy to forget the details of each comp so an 8 minute refresher is worthwhile for me.

  4. Jennifer says:

Thanks for the video! This was a great way to have a look at all the problems, and I enjoyed the commentary. I don’t always have time to watch the whole event so I really appreciate the short recap.

  5. Jonathan says:

This video was absolutely fantastic! I no longer have the time on weekends to watch the world cups, so even though this video is a quite a while after the actual competition, I would be willing to wait until you make a video like this again before finding out about the results. I would love to see a video just like this on this weekend’s world cup too! I’ll even wait until you make it before finding out the results!

    • Thanks a lot Jonathan. I plan to make one about Mumbai ASAP, hopefully I’ll have it ready tomorrow night, but I can’t make any promises!
