Innsbruck 2018: The bouldering starts with very hard problems for the women

The Bouldering has started at the World Championships in Innsbruck. The female qualifiers took place today and the boulders were very hard. Most favorites made it to semis but we saw a lot of frustration during this very long round (it lasted for more than 5 hours).

Quick thoughts:

  • Although the problems were quite hard, all of them were climbed and 7 (out of 10) were flashed.
  • 9 climbers made semis with just 1 top.
  • As the problems get harder the difference between the top girls and the rest becomes more and more evident.
  • The Austrians have 4 climbers in semis (quite good) but there were quite close to having 7.
  • Tatiana Shemulinkina, 31 years old, is back in semis (her last time was in Baku 2014).
