Meadowlark Lemon stand by Anna Stöhr

Austrian climber and 2 times Bouldering World Champion Anna Stöhr has climbed the standing start of what’s probably the most iconic boulder in the Red Rocks of Nevada, Meadowlark Lemon. The line, graded V13 | 8B, was first climbed from the sit by Paul Robinson in 2012.

After falling off the slab yesterday, I pulled myself together and climbed to the top.

This is Stöhr’s 6th V13 | 8B ascent. The Austrian keeps a relatively low profile when climbing on rock, despite her impressive ascents. Last year, she made 3 finals in IFSC competitions, winning a bronze medal in Vail and ending up 5th in the World Championships in Paris.

Meadowlark Lemon is a beautiful sandstone boulder located right outside of Las Vegas. It is one of the most coveted ascents in the area. Sadly, at the end of 2016, it was discovered that one of the holds was chipped to make it a bit more positive, let’s hope that it won’t happen again and many more climbers get the chance to enjoy the problem as it is right now.

Here’s Jesse Warren climbing Meadowlark Lemon from the standing start:

And it looks like Stöhr’s partner (and competition bouldering legend) Kilian Fischhuber did the sit start (V14 | 8B+)
