Sean McColl and Alannah Yip defend their titles at the 2017 Canadian Championships

Last weekend in Edmonton, Sean McColl and Alannah Yip took the gold at the 2017 Canadian Bouldering Championships. This is McColl’s 10th national title and Yip’s 2nd. Jj Mah, Allison Vest, Sebastien Lazure and Elise Sethna completed the podium.

McColl’s absolute dominance of the Canadian comp scene is unprecedented. 10 National titles over more than a decade. Only Alex Puccio compares. In IFSC events he’s been combined World Champion three times. He’s currently 6th in the World Ranking.

Yip has been competing internationally since 2007 and has made semifinals in 8 senior events, including her 16th place in the 2016 World Championships in Paris.
