Kilian Fischhuber is one of the best competition climbers ever, no questions asked. But oddly enough, despite his many years of success in international competitions, which include 47 medals in World Cups, up until 2013 he had never won a championship title. That changed during the European Championships that took place that year in Eindhoven.

Austrian star Anna Stöhr has climbed Penrose step, in Leavenworth, Washington. This is her second V14 | 8B+ after New Baseline, which she climbed back in April.

Superclassic and superhard lines have been repeated left and right. Just this week Alex Khazanov climbed Monkey Wedding 8C | V15 and Marine Thevenet repeated Fragile Steps 8B | v13.

Meadowlark Lemon stand by Anna Stöhr

Austrian climber and 2 times Bouldering World Champion Anna Stöhr has climbed the standing start of what’s probably the most iconic boulder in the Red Rocks of Nevada, Meadowlark Lemon. The line, graded V13 | 8B, was first climbed from the sit by Paul Robinson in 2012.

Kilian Fischhuber retires from competitions

Kilian Fischhuber has announced his retirement from competitive climbing. The Austrian has been competing since 1997 and he’s arguably the best competition boulderer ever. He will continue climbing outside with projects in Iran, South Africa and India.

Toronto Bouldering World Cup Finals

Weather finally cooled off a little for the finals in Hamilton, Canada. The crowd, on the other hand, was warm and energetic, cheering enthusiastically whenever a climber got on the wall. The Toronto (Hamilton!) Bouldering World Cup ended with four medals won by Innsbruck residents (including, of course, Kilian Fischhuber and Anna Stöhr).

The sixth Bouldering World Cup of the Season is over. The Austrian Golden Couple (TM) Kilian Fischhuber and Anna Stöhr have won yet another gold medal. Jorg Verhoeven, Akiyo Noguchi, Jakob Schubert and Alex Puccio completed the podium.
